Nepal's pride enhanced by the additional height of Mount Everest.

Nepal is a landlocked country located in South Asia. As India lies between two big neighbors, India and China, this country has its own significance. Despite being a small country, Nepal has been able to attract the attention of the world due to its various unique attractions. Its total area is only 1,17,141 sq km. It is 885 km long and 193 km wide. It is 0.03 percent of the world's land area and only 3.3 percent of Asia's.

Studying only this geographical location, Nepal seems to be nothing. To be This alone does not make Nepal important in the world. However, even though it is a small country, its location, natural heritage, natural heritage, cultural, religious heritage, peace envoy Gautam Buddha, the world's highest high Mount Everest have been able to introduce Nepal to the world.

In this short article, it is not possible to shed light on the different climates, natural beauty, natural resources, human behavior, costumes, customs, festivals, castes found in a small country like Nepal.

The highest peak measured by the Survey of India in 1954 was only 8848 meters. As Nepal did not measure itself, it was officially recognized. According to the new measurements, the height has increased by 0.86 meters and stood at 8848.86 meters. Nepal alone has eight of the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world. Most of them are at the height of Mount Everest. Due to this, it has become easy to get acquainted with Nepal in world history.

Speaking of Mount Everest, it belongs to Solukhumbu district. Its first successful ascent was on May 29, 1953, by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa of Nepal and Edmund Hillary of New Zealand. This news got a lot of discussion in the world. Only then did the propaganda about Nepal, Nepali and the world's highest peak begin. It was natural for all Nepalis to be proud.

Before 1956, Mount Everest was known by various names. In 1956, Shiromani Baburam Acharya gave it the Nepali name 'Sagarmatha'. That is why the government recognized it and it is still in use today. Since the first survey was conducted by British surveyor George Everest in 1849, Mount Everest has been called by his name. He was also the one to prove that the highest peak in the world falls in Nepal.

Even though the highest peak is called Mount Everest in Nepali, it has different names in other languages. In Chinese it is called Jyamalongmmo, in English Mount Everest and in Tibetan Chomolong. The first woman to climb the peak in the world is Junko Tawei of Japan and Pasanglamu Sherpa of Nepal. Pasanglhmu Sherpa succeeded in putting Nepal on the world map and also worked to increase the pride of Nepal.

In this context, various ideas about the height of Mount Everest began to come. Some started saying that the height of Everest is decreasing while others thought that it is increasing. The Government of Nepal felt that it was not appropriate to maintain such uncertainty and launched studies, research, seminars and trainings to measure its height. Due to which, the task of measuring the height of Mount Everest was gaining momentum.

It has now been confirmed that the height of Mount Everest has increased, especially as the Eurasian plate towards the north has been pushed by the Eurasian plate towards India. If so, the question arises as to why it increased by only 0.86 meters. The idea that the plate on the north side was bigger and stronger and the plate on the Indian side was a little weaker could not push so much and as a result it could not rise above Mt. Everest. The study has also shown that the height of Everest has increased due to the earthquake in 2072 BS. In addition to these ideas, various international research organizations have been involved in measuring the world's highest altitude. Neighboring countries China and India also measured the height. Similarly, the UK, Italy, US and Denmark also measured. However, their height measurements were not the same. As they were different, there was a problem in trusting whose measurements. To address this, Nepal felt the need to measure its own country's highest peak.

Nepal completed the task of measuring the iceberg using its own resources and manpower. This seems to be a high efficiency of Nepal's technical capacity. Based on the measurements taken by the Indian Survey of India so far, this measurement can be considered as a cornerstone in the history of Nepal. After Nepal measured, China also measured separately. A joint analysis of the data measured by the technicians on both sides found that the same height, i.e. 0.86 m, had increased, so there was no reason to doubt its reliability.

The work of measuring the height of Everest has brought a kind of happiness to the Nepali people. According to various researchers and researchers, the only official height is 8848.86 meters. It was announced by the Foreign Ministers of the Governments of Nepal and China after reading the messages of the Presidents of their respective countries through virtual medium on December 8, 2008.

It is natural for the Nepali people to be proud of what Nepal has not been able to do before. This work has made Nepal known to the world. It is natural for the international community to be convinced that this measurement is done by a world-renowned global navigation satellite system.

The international community will also benefit from this measurement as it has dispelled the misconceptions so far and made the facts public. The new map of Nepal recently released by Nepal, the recently measured new height of Mount Everest, the birth of the peace envoy Gautam Buddha, etc., will remain in the golden letters of Nepal's history from the national point of view.

Certainly these important works have added a new brick to the history of Nepal. There will be great progress in the tourism sector in the future. We don't just earn royalties from climbers. We can create a decent income environment through the development of many other sectors. Just as China treats and sells water from ice, Nepal will be able to sell water from the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, to the world. The possibility of making a prosperous Nepal by selling the water of Everest, which can never be exploited, seems equally strong. Various infrastructures should be developed up to the base camp of Everest. Nothing seems to happen just by taking royalties from the climbers. At present, Nepal has not been able to reap the expected benefits. Much remains to be done.

There are many challenges that Nepal has to face to realize these possibilities. In particular, there is a need to protect the deteriorating environment on the one hand, and on the other hand, if the effects of climate change cannot be stopped, the problems of drinking water and disaster management will be equally difficult. The growing amount of garbage around Mount Everest is also becoming a matter of concern.

Lukla Airport: Why is this airport located in the lap of Mount Everest considered scary ?

What is the geography like ? Lukla Airport has been in operation since 1971. It was later renamed Tenzing-Hillary Airport in honor of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary. It is 2800 meters above sea level. According to the Civil Aviation Authority, it is 527 meters long and 20 meters wide, which is shorter than other airports. As there is a short runway, ‘overshoot’ is not possible there. Experts say that it would be difficult to land the same flight. How is it different from others ? Experts say that if the landing is not considered safe in the final case, the airport should have a place where the aircraft can be flown straight ahead or left or right. ‘Overshoot’ is considered to be the general standard required for an airport. But Lukla has not reached that standard. Due to the short runway, the airport has been constructed in a different way to speed up the flight and stop the landing. Its lower part and upper part are at an angle of about 12 degrees. It makes a difference

Nepal’s tourism sector most affected by corona virus ?

Although only one person in Nepal has been infected with the corona virus so far, the mountaineering, trekking and hotel business, which is dependent on foreign tourists, has been affected. The government has said it will open for mountaineering in the coming spring, including Mount Everest. Although the government has not imposed a direct ban on pedestrians, pedestrians are required to submit a health certificate and be allowed to walk after being isolated for 14 days. Photo by Googel. China is a major source of tourism in Nepal. The corona virus was first reported in China and another source in India. Badly affected. Nepal has declared 2020 as the International Year of Tourism and started a campaign to attract 2 million foreign tourists.Even major tourist destinations, such as North America and Europe, are struggling with the epidemic. Many countries have called for a citywide lockdown and social distance from meetings and gatherings. Although the impact of COVID-19 is global and mul

Hero of rescue: Lakpa Norbu

Lakpa Norbu Sherpa, who climbed to Khumbu carrying a heavy book at the age of going to school, has been active in rescue work by hanging himself in a helicopter in the Himalayan region for 17 years. Helicopters have been landing and taking off at the base camp since morning during the Everest ascent. Lakpa Norbu Sherpa has been busy flying and landing helicopters called 'Mountain Taxis' since morning. Three satellite sets hang around his waist. Sometimes talking to the pilot of the helicopter and sometimes talking to the climbers in the upper camps. In Mt.
